The next chapter in our Womens Rugby Section begins

In a historic move for womens rugby in Hong Kong, Valley RFC and Hong Kong China Rugby join together in a groundbreaking partnership that will see the two organisations collaborate to elevate women's rugby to new heights. As part of this partnership, Valley RFC has appointed Bella Milo as the club's first-ever Head of Women's Rugby (Club Coaching Officer).

The appointment of Bella Milo, a renowned figure in the world of women's rugby, marks a significant milestone for Valley RFC and women's rugby in Hong Kong. With her extensive experience, both overseas and in Hong Kong, and proven track record of success, Milo is poised to take the Valley’s women's program to new levels of excellence.

"We received a number of quality applications for the role, however we are thrilled to appoint Bella, who met all our needs. Our Women’s Rugby section has grown to be the most successful in Hong Kong since its inception in the early 1990’s, and we pride this on our values – it was important we had a candidate familiar with the Hong Kong rugby landscape and with strong coaching credentials, Bella’s experience and character match these" said Samantha Scott, Chief Operations Officer of Valley RFC.

Milo, who has spent 8 years at Valley RFC as a player expressed her enthusiasm for the new role. “Hugely excited at the opportunity to coach full time, and even special to be able to do it with Valley. The women’s program has a strong legacy and I’d like to continue that and continuing to add value”

The partnership between Valley RFC and HKCR is a game-changer. By aligning efforts, combining their resources, expertise, and networks, the two organisations will be instrumental in driving the growth and development of women's rugby within Valley and across Hong Kong.

Milo boasts a rich coaching resume that spans over 10+ years, including coaching including coaching internationally at the Womens Rugby World Cup, the Hong Kong Womens Premiership, and various international and development rugby programs across the globe.

She is also part of World Rugby’s High-Performance Academy and maintains regular CPD with the top caliber coaches across the world. As a player, she is equally accomplished having played in New Zealand, England and Hong Kong and is currently Samoa Manusina’s most capped player.

In addition to this, Bella is familiar with the local rugby pathways, programs, schools and tertiary systems. She will be primarily involved with Head Coaching our Women’s Premiership teams, however will also be instrumental in delivering our Womens’ Rugby strategic goals.
