Introducing New Valley Life Members!

At the recent AGM, Chairman Trey Deaver was proud to honour five longstanding contributors to Valley RFC Life membership.

Amelie Seure
Also known as Frenchie started playing for Valley in 2004. She is one of Valley women’s most capped players with 100+ games and was a member of a women’s side that had a 58-game winning streak, won six league championships, and seven grand championship and part of the most dominant women’s team in Hong Kong history. She served as captain on the Women’s Premiership team and was one of the primary leaders who helped revive the Valley Fort girls youth section and played an instrumental role in coaching and developing those age groups.

Brett Stewien
Brett first started playing rugby for Valley in 2000. He was team manager for the Valley Mustangs from 2003-2005 and in 2004 he served as the Vice Chairman. In 2016 Brett became Chairman and served for five years, guiding our club’s expansion into Youth sports and enjoying the success of multiple Men’s and Women’s rugby grand championships! Even after stepping down as Chairman, Brett still finds ways of serving Valley by sitting on the Vice Chair Committee and serving as a founding Director for the new Valley Foundation.

Chanelle Candy
Chanelle started playing netball for Valley in 2014. In very short order, she started volunteering her time and energy, she helped create the Youth Netball, Hockey, and Multisport section, served as Netball Convenor, Kit Convenor, and Youth Convenor (Hockey/Netball) on the main committee. Within netball, she served as the Netball Youth Convenor and grew this section from 8 to 70 members. She also coached at the youth and senior level for Netball and continued to help with all things Netball.

Tanya Young
TY started playing rugby for Valley in 2008. She was another key player in the most winning women’s rugby team in Hong Kong history. Once her playing career was over, she immediately volunteered as team manager for the Women’s Premiership team starting in 2016 and is still in this role today. She also served as the Rugby Women’s Convenor for six years and is currently serving as our Valley Vice Chairwoman. TY also serves as the Chairwomen of the Hong Kong Women’s Rugby Committee for the Rugby Union and just made her debut in our women’s hockey section this year.

Warwick Price
Warwick began his time with Valley as a player/coach fifteen years ago and was an instrumental part of promoting our Schools hockey academy.
Warwick was a key player in one of the most successful hockey teams in Valley history.
After leaving professional coaching, Warwick returned to Valley as a volunteer coach and you can still find him on the hockey pitch Saturday mornings, coaching our Youth teams. He also took up the whistle and is known as a top tier umpire, often handling the elite divisions.

Congratulations to the newly appointed Life members who join the prestigious group of Life members. We thank you for your efforts and contribution to the club!
