Established early 2025, Valley Pink is a vibrant new team that celebrates diversity, inclusion, and the unifying power of sport. Supported by Valley RFC, Phenomenally Pink, and Rugby For Good, this exciting initiative provides opportunities for women working in Hong Kong as Domestic Helpers to experience the game of Rugby through the Rugby For Good Domestic Helper Touch Rugby League and the Hong Kong Tag League. Many of the players also showcase their skills in Valley RFC’s full-contact women’s teams, bridging the gap between social and competitive rugby. Valley have had a rich history of supporting players such as Rica Therese Tan and Khaz Brizuela in our womens teams over the past few years.
Led by coach K Wong and captained by Genevieve Dondiego, with Valley RFC’s Director of Diversity and Inclusion Sonia Vashi overseeing the program, Valley Pink is more than just a team – it’s a community and a group of friends who share a common bond. By partnering with Phenomenally Pink and Rugby For Good, who both use sport as a force for positive change, Valley RFC is breaking down barriers and creating new pathways for players to grow, connect, and thrive.
Looking ahead, Valley RFC aims to expand its inclusive sporting initiatives beyond rugby. Recognizing the powerful impact of sport on mental health and community building, this coming season we will launch hockey and netball programs specifically for domestic helpers in Hong Kong. These programs will provide not just physical activity, but also camaraderie, confidence, and a supportive network.
We’re actively seeking sponsors and partners who share our vision of using sport to uplift and empower. If you or your organization would like to support this mission or donate your time to help, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact samantha.scott@valleyrfc.com
