Wildcats in the House!

After finding out that one of our key defenders wasn’t able to join us for the match, the Wildcats were ready to take on any position to try and gain success. The first quarter was fast paced, with a lot of movement across the court, and the Cheetah’s made it difficult for us to break the Centre, giving a score a of 5-4 to Wildcats at the end of the first quarter.

After switching some players around, we began to settle into the game during the second quarter showing good positioning throughout. Despite some strong defence from the opposing team, we continued to slow down our game and were able to feed straight into the shooters, who played some unbelievable shots, ultimately widening our lead with a score of 14-4 at the end of the first half.

Moving into the third quarter, we continued to drive into our spaces, creating an excellent sense of flow across the court. At the end of the third quarter, we continued to push into the lead with a score of 20-7. In the last quarter, we continued to refine our play, providing us with the final score of Valley Wildcats 32 – Valley Cheetahs 13.

Every member of the Wildcats played to their strength throughout the game, but our Most Valuable Player of the match had to go to our step-in Goal Defence who, despite having rarely played this position, was able to intersect some phenomenal passes.
