Match Report
HKFC E 17th April
An unlucky start for the Chickie-Dees against HKFC E team. Our (stand in) keeper (thanks Grace for volunteering) was only just beaten by the speed and stretch of the ball.
The first half was a mixed bag of up & down the field with some open play that allowed FC in to our D a little too often. Meaghan forcing some great attacks from the right half supported by Georgie playing high in defence with some strong free balls that kept the play open and us attacking. Come half time we were 2-0 down but feeling confident that we were the better team. Our keeper Max joined allowing Grace to play her game in attack.
The 2nd half saw Some good passing and play from the Chickie-Dees with the ball predominantly in our possession. Grace making up for lost time, intercepting and winning possession & Fiona in defence keeping the ball from our D. shutting down open play we kept it strong until HKFC E pushed past and scored with 10mins left to play.
We fought on, won some short corners but couldn’t hit the back of the net. With some near misses from Grace, tireless hounding from Georgie, Meaghan and Fiona. We played well as a team, creating some chances on goal but the 3:0 result was not a true reflection of the match & the Chickie-Dees live fo fight another day .
