The first half saw the team holding a structure that can only be described as angelic. Holding such a structure, meant that the Angels were able to make confident, strong passes in and out of the midfield. This, paired with efficient transfers around the back and through the midfield, had KCC running like hamsters on a wheel. Although there were a few missed opportunities, the first half saw 4 stunner goals. There were tricky dipping flicks, “tits-to-the-turf” diving goals (Shelley showing us how it’s done) and more importantly balls crossing the goal line.
Halftime had Fabian tweaking a few minor details, but encouraging the Angels to continue their game plan of transferring and playing wide.
The second half was another solid effort by the Angels, there were a few minutes in the 3rd quarter where we became a little slower and lost our structure, but all in all, the Angels put out an effort to be proud of and nailed home 5 more goals! One of these beauties had roughly 5 passes inside the attacking 25, to smash it home. Here under the Saturday night lights of HV 1, was a truly inspirational demonstration of team work making the dream work.
Shout out from Fabian of the week was to our midfield workhorse Alana, who didn’t stop running people down, getting in people’s faces and starting counter attacks! And another shout out to Shelley for her first hat-trick of the season for the Angel’s!
