It was a wet, thundery and slightly cooler Sunday which actually set the tone of the day and the game! There is now a growing confidence and team spirit within Carnage and the pre game warm up and stretching session led by Garth reflected that.
From a game perspective in the first quarter Carnage passed the ball around the back well and had a few good entries into the D but to little avail, the highlight being our captain Pat green carded for Pierre coming off the pitch at the wrong time and therefore earning his captain a stint on the sidelines.
The second quarter saw the opposition have a couple of half chances much like Carnage, but Adam, Ryan, Pete and Ives in the midfield started to take control, and with some great out letting by Joe to Chris on the right more opportunities came by way of a terrible tomahawk effort by Doug, Adam slipping one past the far post and Chris having a powerful shot saved by the keepers outstretched left arm.
Onto the 3rd and 4th quarters where Rhoba had a number of PC's and some great saves by Picko and clearances by our def to keep that all important clean sheet, from an attacking point we had some PC's of our own which after Saturdays training session I think we'd all agree still need some work on. Of note their keeper was also forced to make some one on one saves from both Garth and Felix.
We had a draw against the team placed 2nd in the league, but the overall feeling was probably one of slight disappointment as we had dominated for large patches of the game and we really could have won... But it was definitely the best team performance of the season so far and we move onto the next game with more confidence and fitness improving and hopefully 3 pts against Kai Tak early on HV Sunday.
