Delivering 5 Star Rugby, Hockey and Netball programs across Hong Kong

Valley RFC are delighted to have secured a multi-year partnership with ESF Sports to provide coaching and playing opportunities for school children who would like to learn and play Rugby, Hockey and Netball.

Netball is currently offered through the ESF Sports program on a small scale, however with the addition of two other new sports – Rugby and Hockey, this will in turn increase the opportunities for more children to be introduced, engaged and involved with more sport. Working alongside ESF Sports and delivering programs across all ESF’s 22 campuses, Valley RFC will design fun and engaging coaching sessions and lesson plans to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive and develop in their chosen sport.

With the confirmation of the agreement, Valley RFC Chairman Trey Deaver said “This new partnership between ESF Sports and Valley RFC will be significant to children throughout Hong Kong as they benefit from ESF Sports and Language programs. We will be providing our experienced and highly qualified coaches, along with our expertise in sports program management to deliver top quality Rugby, Hockey, and Netball programs”.

ESF’s mission of inspiring creativity and nurturing global citizens and leaders of the future matches the mission of Valley RFC and their development of the Child Athlete. Valley RFC recognise and actively promote the benefits of sport to all its members and partners, particularly with their youth hockey and netball section and the Valley Fort Rugby minis and youth section. Through the ESF Sports partnership, children will have an opportunity to be introduced to either Rugby, Hockey or Netball and remain engaged for the long term through Valley RFC’s Long Term Athlete Development pathways.

The Club recently completed a busy weekend where trial sessions were successfully held for Rugby, Hockey and Netball. This gave management, coaches and participants an idea of what to expect throughout this new promising partnership. This was followed by a Coach Training and Education Day where 28 coaches who will be working across the ESF Sports programs were upskilled and equipped with the knowledge of delivering Five-Star training sessions the Valley RFC way.
