Two legends of the game!

We bid a Valley RFC farewell to two key Womens Premiership players, Cherly So and Agnes Tse, as they depart Hong Kong for the greener (colder?) pastures of Canada. It is hard to overlook the impact the two of them have had on the team over the past few years.

Cherly joined Valley RFC in 2018, having come through the ranks of the Kowloon Lions, Flying Kukris and Valley Fort Youth programs, alongside players such as Rosie Inglis, Jess Eden and Yvonne Lai. An ever so reliable scrum half, she has earnt and owned the number 9 jersey for the past few years and has been the prime connection between the dominant forward pack and the lethal back line with her biting runs and bullet passes.

Agnes joined Valley RFC in 2020 and has slotted into the back 3 positions with ease. With her elusive footwork and line breaking runs, she has contributed to many a try on the scoresheet throughout the seasons. She will always be famous for scoring “that try” – the first try for the Hong Kong Women’s 7’s team as they made their debut in the HSBC World Sevens Series.

Both players will not only be leaving red and black colours, but also that of the Hong Kong Womens 15’s and 7’s program, where they have been featuring as full time athletes at the Hong Kong Sports Institute for a number of years.

We express our heartfelt gratitude for their time given in the jersey and wish them the very best as they embark on a new chapter in Canada, we hope to see you back in Valley soon! Thank you and good luck!
