PANTHERS 29-13 (W) It was always going to be a challenging game against our very own Tigers. Tigers came out firing and left Panthers only in the lead by one at quarter time. Panthers continued to work different combinations and eventually won confidently 29-13. Defence continued to make turnovers and a special mention to Becca Miller who was on fire with numerous intercepts throughout the game. Tiffany Chiu had a great game at shooting, with Krystina Te Kanawa-Coffin confidently picking up any rebounds. A huge thanks to all the Valley boys who came to support us!
PUMAS 34-18 (W)
Another great win by the #mightypumas. We started with a small lead in Q1 and increased it every quarter. With only 8 players, and 2 of these being sick, so it was a great effort. Goal Keepter Sally Cranston coming away with MVP. COUGARS 32-23 (W) Whoop whoop! The Cougars finally 'pounced' on their first win of the season! The game got off to a competitive start with only having six players. We were able to hold the lead once gaining our seventh player/missing piece against a hungry HKFC team. Huge effort from the girls who played up for us, they provided us with that desire and drive that we've been aiming for. Great effort from Lucy Hewitt-Smith who played out of her comfort zone at C, she even got a cheeky intercept or two! The girls definitely put up a solid effort and we look forward to improving going forward! LEOPARDS BYE WILDCATS BYE JAGUARS 20-12 (W) A great game of netball was played by Jaguars against HKCC this week. The team started off strong with consistent, accurate shooting from Natasha Hall in the first quarter which put Jaguars out in front from the first whistle. We maintained this lead throughout the game showing good movement around the court. Hester played some great balls around the semi circle which allowed the shooters to score the goals we needed. Final score - 20-12! Go Jags! CHEETAHS 32- 12 (W) Another fantastic game for the cheetahs with a convincing 32-12 win over the HKFC Cyclones. Some speedy centres took us off to a good start and by the second half we were working wonderfully as a team. Lots of great intercepts from our solid defence ensured that the cyclones had minimal chances. A very enjoyable game! LIONS 25- 10 (W) Another great win for Valley Lions. The game was an eye opener as we experiment on different positions/partnering up for some team members. Great work on working around the D for attackers. Defenders are working well together to block shooters from reaching the advantage positions in the D too.The flow down the court was a little concerning with too much unnecessary moving/running. Work ons include, needing to create space rather than blocking other team members space; understand the pace/skill/style for each team member and adjust timing/throwing accordingly; hold space and communicate when you are in a good position to receive the ball. LYNX 7-8 (L) The Lynx came out firing for our second game of the season. An early warm up session put us in good form and we were ready to take on the Scots. The margin was tight and the girls gave it their all. The prospect of a potential win put us in a frenzy. A strong Valley defence kept the Scots on their feet, but in the end our trigger-happy passing got the better of us. Rakhee Thanki's zen-like calmness in the midst of a fierce fourth quarter set her out as a star performer in this match. We've seen victory fall through our fingers, so now we're hungry for our first win!
