Valley RFC hosted the first combined sports coaching clinic in December 2009. Young athletes were invited to join expert coaches in a 2 day coaching clinic for

Netball – Katie Bradstock
Hockey – Tina and Mark Kake
Rugby – Ally Maclay

Athletes were given the option to select two sports, one for each day of the clinic. In the 3 hour session athletes were exposed to new drills, skills, modified games and match play. Each of these activities aimed at enhancing their ability to perform in match situations. The Rugby and Hockey was held at Happy Valley, whilst the Netball took pride of place in Bradbury Schools playground. With groups of approximately 20 each day it didn’t take long for the respective sports fields to explode with laughter, excitement and puffing.

Each of the athletes gave fantastic reports on their day of sport and “Can’t wait for the next one, is it next week”. Unfortunately there was no next week but there will be more Valley coaching clinics.
