A successful weekend at the 9-a-side Perrier Jinnah Tournament, drawn in a group with Pakistan Association, HKFC and Elite, we sent a strong squad knowing that we'd have a tough weekend. On Saturday we managed to see off Elite 2-0 and HKFC 1-0 to secure passage into the Cup competition, consigning HKFC to the plate competition in the process!!
We then narrowly lost 1-0 to Pakistan Association to set up a semifinal against Shaheen.

On Sunday we were fired up to try and take down Shaheen. We managed to keep Shaheen back despite the umpires attempts to penalise us at almost every opportunity. However we didn't quite create enough chances to put them under pressure and lost 1-0 to an extremely dubious short corner.

So in the 3rd place playoff we were up against Pakistan Association again - clearly upset at being knocked out of their own tournament early. We managed to get an early goal against them and could have scored another, before soaking up their pressure for the rest of the game to hold on for the win.

A decent result from the weekend - and a novelty cheque to reward us for our efforts!! Matt is now tasked with carrying that cheque with him at all times at the 7's next weekend...
