Borneo Nick

Dear Valley Rugby –

Through the Hong Kong rugby community I have received some sad news. Many of you may have played with or against one of the icons of Asian rugby, Nick Villeperieux.

Nick was recently stricken with cancer and passed away peacefully on Saturday, with his family at his side, in the Philippines.

Congratulations......

Valley People,

Its days like last Saturday that you make you proud to be a Valley club member on so many different fronts. Firstly a huge congratulations to the Mustangs for taking out the Grand Championship final for the fourth, yes fourth time in a row. Far from celebrating their victory several players on the “other” side of 40 were heard discussing the possibilities of rounding out an even five in a row….Nice work guys!!

Rugby This Week....Semi Finals and Week 13

So...here we go....we now move into the the business end....

Thanks to all those who came to Valley to watch Firsts secure another undefeated season and make the 2009-10 League Championship official. I am not sure how long its been since a first division team went two years on the trot undefeated, but I do know that its a magnificent achievement. Higgie and the boys should be extremely proud.

Knights went down narrowly to a very strong Club Dragons. Griffins had a good win, Ma Jais came away with a great 5 try win over City and the Girls managed a thumping win over HKFC.

Rugby This Week...Saturday 23 January....

Another big round of Rugby last weekend with some very good results. Firsts put in a great 2nd half performance to overcome a determined DEA team and keep their unbeaten run intact. Knights, Griffs and the Ladies all had solid wins to keep their League title hopes well on track, while the Mustangs and Broncos both went down narrowly. The great news is, Firsts and Mustangs have both secured the 2009-10 League Championships and head into the semis in great shape.
