When we got off the court after the final bell last night and asked what the final score was...we werent expecting to hear what we did!
Leading in the first quarter 5-1, the next 2 seemed to take a turn for the worse, and we were trailing by 3. It was not a very high scoring game. Both teams looked at times to be fresh blood on court with balls flying through hands, slipping out of fingers, almost looking like a game of hot potato rather then netball. If we continued that way for the remainder of the match, we knew we would be in trouble!
The wind was noones friend that hour, but when playing outdoors you have to be prepared to battle the conditions. And that we finally did! In the final quarter, after a little pep talk, the girls went on with heads up and hands strong. Grabbing each ball coming to them, zipping down the court and converting each effort to goals on the shooters end.
Cricket Club are one of our biggest rivals this year, so to have a win under the belt here keeps us excited for April!
