A great effort from the Cougars last night in their match up with the Cyclones. Disappointingly, the game started with a bit of confusion due to the non appearance of one of the rostered umpires, but after some negotiating by both sides the game was able to proceed with umpire help from both teams (thanks Alex!).
Although the Cougars were slow to start in the first quarter, things soon heated up with some strong centre court action led by Tiph, with great support from Erin, Helen and Lisa. Ailsa and Danielle were strong in defence and definitely messed with the Cyclone's shooting, while Alex and Alison's swaps into play helped to ensure that our centre court remained strong throughout the four quarters. Cara's sideline reminders to "put your hands up" saw a huge impact on the intercepts and tip offs with the Cougars making real inroads to disrupting the flow of HKFC's game. Although some minor mistakes were made, with more training and tips from Coach Jane and Captain Cara, the Cougars can only go from strength to strength this season.
