COUGARS REDUCED TO A PURR

Cougars 15 - 43 AP Wallabies

In the first game of the season, the Cougars went down 15-43 against a strong AP Wallabies side. It was a solid effort from the girls coming off the back of only one training session and welcoming 4 new girls to Valley in this team - Tiph, Erin, Michelle and Davina.

The score line did not reflect how well the Cougars played together as a team, getting the ball down the court was a marked improvement on last season. The combination across the centre court worked extremely well with Tiph, Alex, Alison and Holly breaking and feeding the ball into the shooters. Our centre passes were something special. This centre combination will take us a long way this season.

Great work in defence by Danielle, Michelle, and Holly. They were top shooters, little we could do once the shooters got the ball in the circle - they sank every shot!

To our shooters, Lisa, Helen & Davina, it was a tough night at the post, with some tall defence, but you guys kept trying. Well done.

We will look forward to the return of our additional defence line-up in Penny, Brooke and Ailsa next week... and an added feature to the centre court through Erin.

Heads up Cougars, we will bring the roar back next week.
