Thanks to Sjani's pre-match briefing we knew they hadn't won a game yet and we went in confident. With only 1 regular shooter at the start of the game Sjani ably made the switch from defence to GA helping Wildcats get off to a flying start as we scored from the first two centre passes of the match. Although there were times the ball got stuck in mid-court (we could do more work on creating space there) there was generally great play in all parts of the court, which helped keep us ahead the entire match. Final score 25-19. JAGUARS (18-26) L Player of the match: Laura Fairbairn CHEETAHS (19-12) W Player of the match: Jackie Charlesworth LIONS (21-18) W Player of the match: Maja Howard Lynx (36-11) W Player of the match: Kirsty Baron Valley Lynx had an absolute belter this week achieving the Team's biggest score difference yet and defeating the DB Scallywags with a whopping 36 - 11 victory. No doubt the fantastic team turnout and support on court helped tremendously, as did all the practice the girls have been putting in at training. The opposition's attack was strong and they made a worrying come back in the third quarter, but Lynx coped well under pressure and fought them off. With a record number of goals scored, a special mention and MVP recognition must go to Lynx' star shooter, Kirsty Baron, for her amazing skill, precision and persistence. A great game!
