3 goals in the first 10-15 minutes, was in reality all that separated the two teams with the rest of the game being fairly even and the scoreline somewhat belying on field performances. The first a very well taken strike from Kit Lee on the run in the D finding the gap past the keeper. The second another short corner from Andy McCardle, showing composure to delay the shot, a goal and an iphone from the big man, a particularly successful day at the office. And the third coming courtesy of Clark Hoefnagels, astonishingly this was his first of the season, however no doubt this will the first of many. 1 from the opposition and the half ended 3-1.
Second half was a much more muted affair with Valley having to do much of the defending. However it was also Valley to score the only goal of the second half, a break from Clark and a pass through to Kit whose first time strike was if anything better than the first half’s, dragged past the keeper to find the top corner.
The game ended 4-1 and after some post-match unpleasantness from the opposition, who had decided they objected most strongly to Clark’s first half trouser wearing, it was off to Wan Chai for a little early evening entertainment.
A big thanks to Neil for agreeing to keep for us and some well taken stops saved the game from being closer than it was.
Next game is not for a while but it’s the big one, Khalsa C on the 29th, now scheduled for 5pm at HV1 after a minor rearrangement.
