Great result yesterday. 3-1 against the early league leaders KCC C.
A full squad, a coach, an early start and cool weather seemed to do the trick as we were firing on all cylinders from the start.
Quick interpassing between the forwards and good running and communication saw the ball moved into the D within 2 minutes and Arse slotted it inside the post.
First chance, first shot, first goal. 1-0 Carnage.
KCC were still half asleep and our midfield were totally in control. 5 minutes later and a great ball from Flemmo, a Poppet deflection and 2-0.
This spurred KCC to get their act together and they started to string some moves together but our defence was up to the task.
Our Guest Keeper Pumpy defended his fantasy points with gusto with a string of fine saves including one stick stop when the ball was already past him.
Benno had his glasses trodden on inside the first few minutes but he concentrated much harder and let nothing through even though he couldnt see!
Unfortunately Carnage are not used to being 2 up so early and rather than going for the kill we started thinking of lunch, girls, sleeping or whatever else we normally do after a match.
The remainder of the first half and the start of the second was spent mostly in our half defending against a series of short corners (some deserved, most not!)
It took a goal from the opposition to fire the game back into life and suddenly all our early dominance vanished. It was back to the Carnage of old, backs to the wall and scrambling to clear our lines. The last 15 minutes was nerve wracking from the sidelines as time and again we broke clear and promptly handed the ball back to the opposition to have another go. Another needless yellow card took us to 10 men but our defence held firm (just!)
The last action of the game was a Valley break out which got the ball to Jack Flash unmarked 6inches from the back post. Last year's top scorer is clearly a little rusty as he took two attempts of 3 inches each to shunt the ball over the line but it got there!!
Final score 3-1 and Carnage were relieved to have secured their first win of the season. Lots to work on this Thursday and hopefully having a 100% dedicated coach will make the difference!
