CARNAGE FALL TO A SINGLE GOAL

Carnage 0 - 1 HKFC D

We lost.
We started the match without any recognised central midfielders and struggled to retain our shape.
Thanks to the two Mikes, Featherstone all the way from the Es and Kilburn all the way from the right wing who gave it a go but ultimately their unfamiliarity in the role left them exposed and Club dominated the middle of the pitch.

Our defence were excellent as usual but they could not get the ball up front through the midfield so there was no respite from the waves of Club attacks and eventually they conceded a scrappy goal.

Up front the forwards were living off scraps and the gods of fortune were clearly enjoying their weekend elsewhere. We earned 4 short corners in all of which 2 were stopped by a Club foot which the umpires failed to spot. We had a handful of chances in open play with Josh just failing to reach a chance at the left post (next year your arms will be 2 inches longer!) and David Q forcing a save from the keeper who had no idea where it went.

Hopefully we will have some experience in the middle for our next game as we cannot afford to let the opposition dominate the field in that manner again.

Its an early start on Sunday. 9am at Happy Valley against KCC
