Welcome to the hockey section of Valley RFC, one of the largest and most successful sports clubs in Hong Kong. We're based at Happy Valley and play most of our hockey in the in-field area of the Happy Valley racecourse. Comprising five Mens teams and five Ladies teams we are the largest section within Valley RFC with over 200 active members, drawing talent from both Hong Kong and the rest of the world.

The section is coached professionally by our head coaches, former NZ internationals Mark Kake and Tina Bell-Kake, who offer skills and tactics coaching for all levels of ability, drawing on their own extensive experiences.






The Ladies and Mens 'A' teams both play in their respective Premier Divisions offering the highest level of hockey in Hong Kong playing alongside and against current & former internationals from all the hockey nations.





With teams entered throughout the remaining divisions, we are also able to offer hockey for all levels of hockey player from those brand new to the game, returning to the game, and the seasoned regular players.

As a club we try to blend a good mix of competitiveness with a social side; whether we win, lose, or draw, we're first to the bar for post match banter and analysis.


The main winter league season runs from September through to May, with mixed summer hockey from June to September. The Valley hockey section run multiple social events throughout the season and are an enthusiastic touring team as well and have recently toured to Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Vietnam.

Valley Hockey is committed to the development of the game in Hong Kong and we run a strong youth section. A regular coaching session takes place on Saturday mornings at Happy Valley where the stars of the future can be found. More details can be found here.
